DET GULE HUS: Drømmevæsnerne / THE
YELLOW HOUSE: The Dream Creatures
Directors: Catherine Kunze & Jacob Wellendorf
Documentary/Narrative, Color, 12 min.
Denmark 2009 Danish with English subtitles

"The Dream Creatures" is the last of five
films from "The Yellow House" - a Copenhagen
housing block. In "The Dream Creatures", Chloë
and Thea pay a secret visit to two-year old
Valdemar in his mother's studio (Danish painter
Kathrine Ærtebjerg). Strange things happen up
there, where all the dreams of the yellow house
go to be transformed into pictures. A funny,
philosophical encounter between art and children.
"The Dream Creatures" ist der letzte von fünf
Filmen aus "The Yellow House", einem
Kopenhagener Wohnblock. In "The Dream Creatures"

(city hall) foyer
John-F.-Kennedy Platz 1, 10825 Berlin-Schöneberg

Exhibition description
The exhibition documents the history of
Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre

in association with
International Artists
Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre was founded by
Prof. Donald Muldrow Griffith,
Prof. Gayle McKinney Griffith, Lynnda Curry,
Ricky Powell and Detlef Bäcker, four American
artists and a German colleague, who met in Berlin
during 1979 at Theater des Westens and decided to
undertake intercultural, interdisciplinary and
international productions in dance, theatre,
television, workshops, film/video festivals and
publications.

This exhibition paints a picture of the activities
of various people during their historical
contributions to Berlin, elsewhere and hence, the
portrait seeks to prevent these undertakings from
becoming "footprints in the sand?"

Tanz, Theater, Fernsehen, Workshops, Film/Video

The Klee Universe

"All will be Klee", noted Paul Klee (1879-1940) in his
diary at the launch of his career. His premonition was
more than correct. With a brilliant display of in-depth
scenes, caricatured and abstract visions and obser
-vations of our scientific and human and animal pro
-gression. “ A view inside our being.”

"UdK - Berlin, Germany"

The College of Music. The College of Music ranks
as one of the largest music education institutes in
Europe, rich in content and quality. Dating back to
the Royal (later State) Academy of Music founded in
1869, it has been one of the leading schools of
music in Germany from the outset.

Composers such as Max Bruch, Engelbert
Humperdinck and Paul Hindemith, performers such as
Artur Schnabel, Wanda Landowska and Emanuel
Feuermann, and academics such as Philipp Spitta,
Curt Sachs and Kurt Singer taught here. In the
1920s, the area of teacher training gained
significant importance in the State School of
Music the implementation of a new type of
artistic, academic and educational training.

In the course of its history, several
noted institutes of learning in Berlin’s music
life have been integrated into the Berlin State
School of Music (since 1975 part of the Berlin
of the Arts). A diversely unique entity has
developed which can in fact be regarded as a
music university – not least, because possible
co-operations with other Colleges at the
University open up many interdisciplinary
art forms and experimental fields. The College
of Music represents a wide spectrum of today’s
artistic, educational and academic culture and
offers differentially organised courses of
study for almost all professions of music. The
high of foreign students mirrors the College’s
international reputation.
